With nearly a decade in sourcing and technical recruitment, Donatien has progressively moved from traditional tech hiring into the world of deep tech, where computer science, physics and engineering meet. He currently leads scientific recruitment at Quandela, helping build teams across the full photonic quantum computing stack.

Over the years, his focus has evolved from sourcing to Talent Intelligence. While AI has become an incredible accelerator, he remains convinced that the most valuable insights still come from people. Building trusted relationships with researchers, professors, founders, community leaders and fellow recruiters has become a core part of his approach to identifying highly specialised talent

He enjoys working at the intersection of disciplines, technologies and communities, where unexpected connections often emerge. Sharing ideas, learning from peers and exploring new ways to understand talent ecosystems have become some of his favourite parts of the job.

Outside of recruiting, you’ll probably find him talking about poker strategy, motorsport, great books or films. Originally trained in literature, he still believes that understanding people is as important as understanding technology.
